Catholic Schools Week starts this Sunday. The theme for this year is Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. We will open our celebrations with an Open House Sunday from 9:30 - 11:30AM. We have asked for parents and students to help us with Greeting, Touring and answering prospective parents’ questions.
Monday, we will attend the 8:30AM Liturgy to start the school week off. Student that have gym on Monday should wear their Track Suit. Our day will end with a Special Assembly at 1:30PM.
Tuesday is Rainbow Color Clothes Day. Students are asked to wear as many colors of the rainbow as they can. We are also extending an invitation to our GrandparentsDay!. We invite our older, special adults in students’ lives to spend some time with us (9:00 - 11:00AM). The day is intended to be for grandparents and other special, older adults, but you should know that our school has many stairs. Our visitors must be able to walk up several flights as we do not have an elevator.
Our other CSW events are listed on the Events Calendar posted on our Links Page. I would like to highlight that Friday the SMSPA has organized an assembly for all of our students and it is a Half Day for all classes except for PK4A.
The Student Council has asked if they can hold a SOUP-er Bowl Canned Food Drive next Friday. With next Sunday being the Super Bowl, they really wanted to do something to help support those in need.
Monday, the 3rd of February and the school is Founder’s Day and school is closed for all classes except for our PK4A program.
Our 8th Graders continue their journey into secondary school. They have received their TACHS scores and Acceptance Letters have been mailed home. They and their parents will be making these important decisions very soon.
Some Read-A-Thon Updates:
As of Friday at 3PM our students have read 40,477 minutes. This is the equivalent of 675 hours or 28 days! Through their efforts, and yours, we have raised $11,560!
On Monday afternoon, the students have earned the opportunity to duct tape yours truly to the gymnasium wall! And if we raise just $1,000 more, the Top Readers and Top Earners in each class will get the opportunity to dump slime over my head! The Read-A-Thon officially ends on Friday, January 31st at Midnight. Decisions on the Top students will be made using that deadline so be sure to get your reading finished and recorded by that time.
